Turn to Joy

with one comment

Little child you cause me to rejoice
Though it hurts to see you leave
I can still hear your voice
Calling me from far away
I will return again someday

Sweet savior, you say we’ll see you no more
You tell us you are leaving this evil world
And all the anguish we face
Will turn to joy when you return to us one day

You will grieve
But your grief will turn to joy

Oh my love you are leaving me
Though I’ll wait in pain I learn to wait patiently
And all these long lonely hours
When you return Joy once again will be ours

You will grieve
But your grief will turn to joy

Oh my love it hurts to see you go
though I hope you will return
I never really know
I must just trust in the Lord
to bring back my living spring of joy

You will grieve
But your grief will turn to joy

  1. Thomas-

This is beautiful. It captures so well the moment, the acknowledgment of grief and of what will come. They are hard words to hear “your grief will turn to joy”, when we are in it.
Alas, we can be blessed by grief.

    Thank you
